SOUTHEAST WISCONSIN FESTIVAL OF BOOKS ANNOUNCES CO-CHAIRS AND DATE OF EVENT

WAUKESHA – The Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books committee has named UW-Waukesha Associate Professor of History, Timothy Thering of Milwaukee and retired educator, Duane Stein of Wales as the 2016 co-chairs of the event. This year’s Festival, with the theme “Roots and Branches,” will be held November 4-5, 2016 on the UW-Waukesha campus, 1500 N. University Drive, Waukesha, WI.

The Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books is an annual community celebration of literacy and the arts, where local and national authors and readers of all ages come together to enjoy presentations, performances, creativity and conversation.

The Festival plans to incorporate author panels and events that showcase UW-Waukesha’s alumni and 50th Anniversary celebration, as well as highlight Waukesha Reads community read, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

This is the seventh year for this free event, which is organized by the UW-Waukesha Foundation. The Festival will again partner with Books & Co. of Oconomowoc, which will offer online presales of all Festival books.  A Writer’s Marketplace is also available for authors and organizations to promote their work for a small fee. Volunteers are needed for the event.
