The Poetry People

Poetry People
THE POETRY PEOPLE first met as students of poetry, writing and workshopping at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha under the careful eye of Dr. Phil Zweifel.  In 1997, the classmates decided to share their work with others and formed as The Poetry People.  Their first public reading was hosted by Martha Merrell’s Bookstore and over the years they have participated in readings at Schwartz Books, the Waukesha Public Library and Good Harvest Market as well as before students in creative writing classes at UW-Waukesha and in support of The Women’s Center, Inc. of Waukesha .  Though now published poets, most members still reguarly attend class with “Dr. Phil.”
